Beginner T-Shirt Quilt Class

Take your collection of t-shirts and make yourself or a loved one a quilt! This is the perfect gift to give that has memories and love all wrapped up in one quilt. Size of the finished quilt will vary between a lap size and a twin size quilt, depending on the number of shirts and size of your border and sashing.

This class is broken up into two half-day classes:

Day 1 - Prepping the Shirts
You will need to bring your shirts, shirt stabilizer, the T-Shirt square ruler, rotary cutter, and cutting mat. We can help you shop for your sashing fabric once the shirts are prepped.

Day 2 - Sashing the Shirts
Bring your sewing machine, your cut shirts from day 1, and your sashing fabric.

Fabric Requirements:

• 12-15 uncut shirts
• June Tailor's T-Shirt Transformation Ruler OR a 15 in square ruler
• 5 yards of t-shirt interfacing
• 1/2 yd for binding
• 2/3 yd for sashing
• 1 yd for borders
• 3 1/2 yds for backing

Skill Level:	Beginner
Skill Details:	Basic cutting and piecing, using interfacing to line the shirts, and sewing cotton fabric and shirt material together.
Requirements:	sewing machine, fabric required, basic sewing supplies, thread, scissors, rotary cutter and cutting mat.
Instructor:	Carol Duque
Instructor Bio:	Carol is a 11 year veteran long arm quilter and T-Shirt Quilt designer. She has entered quilts in various competitions for her machine quilting and won several awards. Her work can be seen at Heirloom Elegance in the samples that hang in the shop.
