Project Phoenix Days
Friday, March 25 & Saturday, March 26
We are collecting donations for a Girl Scout Silver Award Project.
The project involves collecting items for children ages 5-12 who have been abused and who have to go to court to testify. These children in Comal County Court System many times must sit in a room for hours or even days until they are called in to testify (Nueces County provides for our youth facing similar problems). Comal County has nothing but a TV in the room to occupy the children while they wait.
My daughter, Katie, is sewing drawstring bags for her Silver Award Project, and she is trying to collect items to put in the bags to help occupy the children during this stressful time for them.
Each child in the Comal County Court system will receive a bag of these items identifying them as a Phoenix recipient.
Items needed are:
colored pencils, regular pencils, erasers, coloring books, crayons,
small notepads, small toys, small puzzles, safety scissors,
and self-contained kits or projects that do not require extra materials to complete
For each person who brings in two of these items
they will receive 40% off one purchase item that day only
excluding already on sale items.
Thank you for supporting our project and helping these children in need!
